I'm worried NATO (and the rest of the world) is going to let Ukraine crumble, albeit somewhat unwillingly. NATO partners are so scared of a proxy war or WW3 with Russia that they don't want to be directly involved. Sanctions and weapon shipments will not be enough. Ukraine doesn't have a big enough army.

It appears as if NATO doesn't think Ukraine is worth fighting for. There is not a single NATO boot in Ukraine.

Which makes a lot of sense. We don't have any contractual obligation to defend Ukraine, and the fate of Ukraine is not a core interest.

I believe the fate of Ukraine is a core interest for some European nations in NATO. Sweden and Finland applying to join NATO in light of the invasion of Ukraine is also evidence of core interest in the matter in the region.

I understand NATO article 5 and Ukraine is not part of NATO. But that is not an excuse to ignore moral and ethical obligations. A contractual obligation is not needed to go to war.

They aren't worth fighting for. And there are NATO boots in Ukraine, but they're undercover and staying out of sight, mostly helping with artillery spotting and the like. When they die, they are written off as a mercenary so as not to escalate tensions.

Can you imagine going to Ukraine to die on the behalf of an openly fascist regime while claiming to hail from a "western democracy"? LMFAO... oh, the hypocrisy is rich. They're getting what they deserve, that's for sure!
