Not a medical science guy myself but if they just happen to find a cure that has something to do with anti venom then you know this was nefarious.
The narrative that it came from a bat was plausible because it's been known for decades that bats are the hosts for a wide range of wild, unknown coronaviruses (as well as other viruses). Bat viruses have been the object of intense study for a long time for this very reason.
Plus, there was active research of wild bat viruses going on in the Wuhan Institue of Virology, so it makes perfect sense to assume that one of these viruses infected one of the researchers there in a minor breach of safety protocols, who then carried the virus to the outside world where it started mutating and increased its capability for human-to-human transmission, until it became highly contagious and reached an epidemiological tipping points where it began spreading exponentially.
