It could result in a mistrial, but no matter how many times Chauvin is tried, I'm confident he's gonna get at least manslaughter.

Surprised people aren't wagering on the verdict.

People are. I don't know if linking to gambling sites is within JSP rules or not, so I'll refrain, but there's massive betting, and has been since the beginning.

What are the odds of acquittal from you have seen? It's funny that people are making a sport out of this.

I have not checked the numbers in a week. I don't bet on it, and the riots in Portland have been heating up (literally) to a point that paying close attention to the trial hasn't been on my agenda lately.

Only paying attention today for closing statements and to keep tuned in for a verdict. I think even any form of guilty verdict is going to face a nightmare in appeal right now, but I'm undecided. I think manslaughter is likely, murder 2 or 3 unlikely.

I don't think it's manslaughter. He knew he was suffocating him and continued for several minutes. There is intentional use of deadly force against a defenseless and at a point incapacitated victim. Manslaughter would imply it was an accident or a result of negligence.
