The US and UKR presidents publicly squabbling while the Russians wrap up their build-up of troops - what a disaster, not just militarily but also from a PR standpoint.

if our authorities or China have no desire to live (which I doubt, both we and China know perfectly well what nuclear weapons are). This is possible, but not at all, because we still understand what it is and what the throwing of nuclear missiles can lead to. Let them show off, but not the third world war (it will not be a third, but the last one)

Bumping this topic noting the inevitable has arrived.

To reiterate the OP:

In summary ~ the EU wants Ukraine as a trade partner and Ally
Russia sees this as a Red line similar to the US-Cuban Missile Crisis
In this instance however the EU and US are not backing down
Therefore invasion by Russia into Ukraine is inevitable
i.e. A perfect example of US-EU politicians complete failure at diplomacy
The only winner here is China which appears to be the only super power with a credible long term plan

The most likely conclusion to all this will be the reinstatement of a Pro-Russian Government in the Ukraine which will hopefully have a stabilizing effect on the region, while accepting this is not optimal for Ukrainians.
The situation really is a damning verdict against Nato and the EU, and America. Woeful Politic's and Woeful Diplomacy.
