as of the 2010 census, 25% of Hennepin county (where Minneapolis is located) were non-white, the share is most likely at around 30% by now.

3 times as many whites as non-whites in the city. By pure statistics, you'd expect 5 out of the jurors to be non-white. 6 are non-white, which is well within the expected error for such a small sample size.

to nitpick one detail though: if one quarter of the metro is non-white, then the expected number of non-white jurors on a jury of 14 would be 14/4 = 3.5, not 5.

exactly, and given the small sample size and the question mark surrounding the two "multiracial" jurors, that's just not a statistically significant difference.

And there's a nice 0% of a white man aged 45, i'm aware of the "sample" problematic, but let's say it frankly: Chauvin ( which barely means racist/nationalist/conservative in french) wasn't that much lucky with jury composition.
