I don't think NK necessarily would lose a war. If they have nuclear parity with the US then the US would have to have boots on the ground. In a protracted ground war the US have proven time and time again that they don't have what it takes. Not in Vietnam, not in Afghanistan and not in Iraq.

The US can't afford that kind of war.
