The graines are transported out of Mariupol, not Odessa. Russians can take the grain and transport it to Russia anytime they want because it is in their controlled territory. They've got the extensive railway system Ukraine doesn't have.
There's no contradiction, Odessa has 20+ millions tons of grain waiting, France proposed to will act as a third party to guarantee the commercial route (while ukrainians will remove mines).
