I wish we had the tech to meaningfully assemble nano-bots inside your body and have them do something. That would be absolutely amazing for medicine and would be the product of at least 5 yet-to-be-awarded Nobel prizes.

You guys don't seem to understand that scientists are the ultimate tech geeks. This shit would be amazing if we had it. I could do so much cool as fuck research with little injectable nanobots.

But what's being shown in the picture is just debris at the bottom of a dish, and probably some dried salt on the outside of the dish. I see this kind of image literally 500 times a week. Splash some phosphate-buffered saline on the outside of your dish, or a little media splashes on the outside of your dish, and you see out of focus crystals like that.

If you let a concentrated salt solution start to evaporate, or you drop the temperature, or they just sit long enough on a shelf, you'll get crystals depending on what salts you have in the dish. They look exactly like that. There isn't a chance we have the tech to make a nanobot that is 50 micrometers across and self-assembling in solution. Again, would be cool as shit if we did and I actively want that reality to happen, but this aint it bro.
