DeSantis definitely wasn't winning 100% of the vote in this group, lol. And to calculate the electoral impact of covid deaths, you then of course also have to multiply the death tally with turnout.
63k covid deaths in Florida. Let's assume they are a group that DeSantis won 75-25, i.e. with a 50% margin. Turnout in 2018 was 62.55%. Then, the electoral impact would be 63k * 0.5 * 0.6255 = 19703 votes, well below DeSantis' 33k margin in 2018.
