automate taxes, and tax automation.

Honestly its pretty close if you're a person earning a salary or wage in a job without eligible employment expenses and have nothing else going on which honestly is a significant portion of the population.

Turbotax, answer the questions to generate your profile, upload documents directly from CRA, file taxes electronically, all done within 15 minutes and its free.

The bloated and huge federal government and federal reserve should both be abolished - neither of these things were intended by the founders of this country. We need to return to a minimalist federal government that actually does their job of supporting the American people instead of oppressing them while grabbing power whenever and wherever they can, spying on them, seizing their bank accounts through asset forfeiture, and just generally acting like a demonic and tyrannical entity that greedily devours everything in its way.

So yeah, federal taxes should be abolished as well - goes without saying.

Speaking of unfair taxation, isn't that part of why we had a revolution in the first place?

At least in Canada they have the various products and essentially the more you pay the most hand holding it does meaning a significant amount of questions so it can properly profile you so it knows which forms to direct to you to, like were you ride-sharing or did you have a rental or a business, etc. They do have a free one though which is perfect for simple returns.

The free one is also perfect for students, typically.

On one hand taxation is theft, but on the other hand I enjoy the things that taxes pay for, & I’m not deluded enough to believe those services don’t cost money.

I both enjoy the services and I do enjoy knowing the fact that there's less fortunate people out there getting somewhat of a life from my tax dollars. That "enjoyment" only goes so far though before it makes working overly depressing because the return is abysmal. With my marginal rate already over 50% sometimes I question doing additional side work as is making me less productive in society.

In my country you can fill out the form on the IRS homepage.
Also the IRS has already filled out the form for you based on previous year.
So if you don't wan't to change anything you can just approve it via textmessage on a cellphone.

I pay like 50% tax on my income.
But only like 20% on my capital gains.

We also have this special capital acount where you tax like 0,5% each year on the market value but you don't have to tax for the gains when you sell the stock and funds.

What's sad is the predatory filing companies, aka. H&R Block.

There's many middle age individuals that don't have any education around tax and in Canada typically you're employer takes appropriate taxes so after any deductions like RRSP contributions and tax credits you end up with people being owed refunds. H&R Block and many others offer cash back right away, but they take a very healthy cut of the money.

If people just knew how simple it was they would realize they could get their money in two weeks via net filing using a free service.

There will always be a place for CASH NOW joints though, well a demand anyway...
