I'll give you an example.

Let's saying your playing Terror Zones and you want +105% faster cast rate breakpoint for teleporting fast.

One way you could do this for leveling is the following:

Rare Diadem = +20% FCR
+2 barb crafted amulet = +20% FCR
Rare ring = +10% FCR
Arach Mesh Belt = +20% FCR
spirit shield = +35% FCR (you still want to be able to block damage)

This equals +105% faster cast rate.

(mainhand weapon Grief Phase Blade)

If I use one of these items I no longer have +105% faster cast rate, which means I no longer have 8 Frame teleport (which is the 2nd fastest teleport in the game for Barb)

The added advantage of damage from Arreat's is useless when I am playing with an Amazon that throws 2 Lightning Fury's and kills everything on the screen in that terror zone. The same could be Said about a Sorceress (Self wield infinity sorceress is going to delete everything on the screen in 2-4 nova's).

The fact that barbs do damage at all is kind of meaningless if you have a well geared Amazon or well geared self-wield infinity sorceress in your Terror zone party.
