I guess in the end the question is, does it really effect us? Unlike you I haven't seen any demonstration or personally had to waste time/energy to deal with some of the OTT rhetoric. Regarding your point on online communities...In general the internet has normalized radical thinking in addition to ideas that were previously considered outlandish. Keeping politics out of it for a moment, whatever your belief system is or whatever specific fetish, xyz flat earth theory - you will be able to find a community that will back your idea and bring positive reinforcement to a notion that would have previously been given no thought.

a bit of a strange situation here, because vegans are pushing for healthier and more moral food. and we're all receiving the tertiary effect, like non-union members getting fringe benefits. overall i'm fine with vegans, i have a few close friends that are vegan. my real contention is with the anti-hunters, not only because im a hunter and it hurts my feelings but also because of opportunity lost. put the groups together and we can better combat factory farming, the real enemy. the protesters are a bit annoying, but they cant come on private property. so they dont effect me all that much. i chose to engage more out of boredom and curiosity than anger. one sign read "meat is murder", so i wanted to see what they were about. part of me is only mad at militant vegans because they do some harm to their own movement, that behavior irks me even when i dont support the aims of the group. too many years playing strategy games have made my incapable of ignoring a bad strategy in play.

Sad irony that as powerful an invention the internet may be, I would argue it is the foundation of anti-intellectualism

No humour? Wife must be as dry as her cereal.

i just didn't find the joke premise funny. i dont actually want you to chose to get thrown down the stairs, a surprise push when your hands are in your pockets would be way more funny.

Haha, well you said red meat can be cancerous. Figured why would you eat it then if you know the risks?

I have noticed one thing*. Vegetarians tend to look dry and pale as they age, what is the reason for this?

Because you are young yes. I also felt more handsome when vegan, better skin, stronger nails, but people who are vegans for 20+ years seem to get dry as they age. :/ But it could be the low % of body fat.

vegans are also less likely to use cosmetic products if they contain animal parts or are tested on animals. so it may just be they look more natural.

It is, especially the processed (nitrates and another shit) and wrongly cooked (grilled/too much heat=> polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) one.
Theres also the Iron excess causing various problems, but if you eat 1 tartare from time to time it's ok.

Lol, ok well that's very different than your previous post

thought you were advocating it's 100% cancer and should not be eaten, ever

Nah, i think you are polarizing. I specified "wrongly cooked".
When you see black burns on it, it's cancer.

Btw Tournedo Rossini hype ;)
