What was being said is that if you take this pill, all things constant, you will gain weight. If you change your lifestyle that will help but the changes in metabolism and energy levels are going to hold you back a lot. If you diet it wont be nearly as effective. Same with exercise, even though that is less possible with energy loss as well.
If we arent Duffman scientists and have a controlled experiment the results are obvious. If you can change nothing, add one pill, and gain 30 lbs in 3 months, the pill causes weight gain. This ruins the argument that BMI is only cal in vs cal out as the pills have no cal content. Its simple logic at this point. Meanwhile duff is denying the antecedent and using an internet forum post by an anonymous schizophrenic person as data.
Sometimes you just have to consider the source.
No it dosent. If the pill alters you than you just have a new resting caloric requirement. You adjust for it and if you want to lose weight you eat in a deficit. It's simple logic. Just like age you need less calories as you age, find the new resting rate, in vs out.
Weight is resting requirements given your scenario than just in vs out.
