^ Thanks :D

Mobo: I guess I'll wait for a price drop for one of those you mentioned, if they're all about in the same class.

PSU: I don't really care about the PC looking "clean" on the inside, so hanging cables don't really matter to me. Is a PSU cover necessary?

Case: Would a mid-tower work or do I need the full? Assuming I probably won't be adding/changing the components in the future, I imagine mid would work.

If you dont care about the inside looks a Psu cover is not needed.

Mid cases is the way to go even If you upgrade.
Only reason to go full Tower is If you Wanna get an EATX size motherboard to accommodate 4+ GPU for rendering. Or if you wanna do some multiple radiator custom watercooling system.
So yeah the 99.9% will be satisfied with mid tower.

E. You should probably go with a windowless case.

Mid tower,
PSu cover isn't a must but u shd definitely try to make the wires neater for better airflow within the case. Fractal design s non window on sale right now too

Okay, thanks, I'll give with a non window mid. How do I know which case has a PSU cover and which doesn't?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm reading that the Ryzen 5 1600 only supports up to 2666mhz ram regularly and anything over that needs to be overclocked (and the stock cooler can handle it fine).

However it seems like it's not a difficult procedure (just some mobo settings need to be changed) and there are lots of guides for it, so I should be able to handle it. Just wanted some clarification.

Ryzen was new, so the motherboards had problems supporting the speeds higher than 2666. However most companies updated their bios, and by now they shd have np reaching 3000/3200. Either way, you will need to go into Ur bios and change Ur ram speeds, as it will be on slower speeds by default.

I currently have the gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 mobo, and reached 3000 speeds months ago when I purchased it for my 3000 rams.

If Ur going for non window case, you can save more money by getting any cheapest 3200 rams. You don't have to spend more for that nice looking ram you picked, since the case will be covered. The most popular cases with psu cover are the next s340 or phanteks p400

There's no plural of RAM when discussing hardware ;)

Okay good to know, I guess you gotta fiddle with settings either way. That Gaming 3 seems to be the most popular mobo for pairing with the Ryzen 1600.

Definitely non-window. I don't care much about looks so the case is where I'd like to save money, if possible (as long as it's not totally shitty quality).

Couple new questions...

GPU: Seeing that there are several different GTX 1060 6GBs, how do I know which one to get, or do I just get the cheapest? Some have 1 fan, some have 2?

Surge protector: Any recommendations? I'm going to have both my new and old PC hooked up in the same area, plus some other things. Nothing fancy, just want something for protection for when the power inevitably goes out here a couple times every winter.
