I guess it depends on what you’re going for. CWS argues that a hypertrophy block will maximize a strength block by giving you a stronger base. Compare two athletes with comparable body fat. The one who weighs more will obviously be stronger. Hypertrophy encourages muscle growth by bringing the fibers close to failure. The bigger the base, the bigger the peak.
Makes sense. I guess my assumption was that starting with a strength block means you can lift more in your hypertrophy routine and gain size more quickly.
