Which one do you recommend then, Texas or Wendlers? Or something else?

Do hypertrophy work first.. Build a foundation than start a strength block.

I’d recommend Wendlers, Texas method would murder you.

Hypertrophy first? I was only doing SL because everyone said to do a strength routine first to build a foundation.

I guess it depends on what you’re going for. CWS argues that a hypertrophy block will maximize a strength block by giving you a stronger base. Compare two athletes with comparable body fat. The one who weighs more will obviously be stronger. Hypertrophy encourages muscle growth by bringing the fibers close to failure. The bigger the base, the bigger the peak.
