Nationalisation of railways, banks and energy companies is pretty radical. We had a nationalised bank before though and it was pretty good for a while. This could be the start of a worldwide socialist revolution. Fingers crossed comrades :)

Your railway system sucks though. Was in England a couple of years ago, visiting friends. Shit was super expensive and took ages to get anywhere.

A privatized system can work very well (i.e. Japan) but yours was absolute shitballs.

would be fun to see a true old left take over uk and restore it back to pre neoliberal days

What would GB look like if that were to happen?

This would honestly fix so many things. I'm supportive of this ideology from afar.

Exactly like it did last time.

"we've ran out of money"

Then conservatives will be back in with more cuts trying to balance the books.

It's a great idea. But it needs to be done with money we can afford, not money we borrow. And it needs to be done properly, anyone that's old enough to remember British rail will tell you it was a sodding disaster and it's 50 times better now it's privatised.

Easy to get votes when offering free money. Hard to keep them when that money runs out.

If he gets in it would be the worst possible timing for it. Raise minimum wage to £10, you've lost tens of thousands of jobs just from that. Promote your ridiculous unions and you'll have thousands more missed working days for the year. Increasing the minimum wage will guarantee continued inflation, interests rates would rocket, house prices would plummet (great for those who don't own a home) those at the bottom of the ladder already struggling would no longer be able to afford their mortgages, and wouldn't be able to pay off the bank with the sale of their homes if they drop far enough, so you'd have record levels of bankruptcy.

On top of that you've got an increase in business rates, where already struggling firms would be further burdened by an increase in minimum wage and an increase in tax. How the fuck are they going to survive, it would be the end of small businesses.

Then you'll have all the "rich" people on over 80k/year get tax increases, so a lot of them would go out of their way to hide their earnings or move overseas.

Punishing the rich because a burger flipper couldn't be arsed to get an education is a fools game.

here's the translation of this:

economical & financial paper, moderately liberal.

Before the London bombings, which occurred four days before the elections, the Labor Party leader was realizing the most surprising "remontrada" in British history. Almost 20 points ahead of the "English Mélenchon", Theresa May, the outgoing Prime Minister, is now followed in the polls by a sixty-eight-year-old leftist, a 34-year-old deputy in the same area. The enormous program foresees the renationalization of the railways and the postal services for 250 billion sterling and, in total, about double the amount of additional public expenditure. The establishment can not imagine that 10 Downing Street is occupied by this relentless pacifist who refuses to sing the "God Save the Queen", wants to end nuclear and NATO, compares Israel to the Islamist state , is in favor of "liberalizing" prostitution and, the most "shocking" of everything, plans to replace the artworks of official collections in the Prime Minister's apartments with the abstractionist crusts he buys in charity sales. Three times married to militants of the world's alternative left, the penultimate one seems to have lost her favors when she dared to demand that her children go to a private school. His indefectible companion is his cat, El Gato.

Why would wages going up cost jobs? Its pretty much the opposite.

You think a small coffee shop in a local village can afford to pay staff an extra £2 an hour?

Behave yourself.

Terror attacks bring right wing votes.

usually, but maybe not this time. corbyn/labour so far have been pretty effective at blaming the cuts to the police which were conducted during May's time as minister of the interior as a big contributing factor to this terror attack. "If May hadnt cut the police so hard, they would have had enough staff to keep an closer eye on those guys who pose a potential threat."

corbyn winning would be the worst thing ever. he would run GB into the ground within a couple of years. this would be a disaster not only for GB but also for the rest of europe. IMHO, the political leaders of most european countries are secretly working towards "United States of Europe" while trying to hide this very fact from their domestic voters, with which these 'USE' are highly unpopular. a successful brexit would be a huge and undeniable blow to this plan. therefore, continental european leaders have an interest in making brexit flop for GB, in making May fail.

if corbyn gets elected, they could blame all the economic downturn, all the increases in unemployment and debt which his policies inevitably bring, to brexit. essentially, the continental european socialists could blame the failure of the british socialist on those who voted against socialism (ie the leavers). and they would point out this failure of socialism as an example for the necessity of the socialist project of USE to their domestic voters. a total travesty, but I'm afraid it might work.
