"Can" being the operative word. You could make that case for thousands of athletes across every sport and at every level, but the character flaws and poor decision-making rarely changes as they progress through the ranks. Imagine how few headlines we would have if half of the idiots hired a personal driver, used Uber/Lyft or had a buddy say "Hey. After this 4th club of the evening and 7 hours of drinking, maybe don't bring a gun into this joint." It all sounds nice in the land of hypotheticals, but in practice it just doesn't happen often.
