Apparently they fired it so it would travel the exact same distance as Guam is from NK.

They're really rattling their sabers, I guess more sanctions are in order. At some point NK has to cave. They can't risk war.

Sanctions are a bad idea since the very beginning, and this also apply to others countries in the world;
If the market & borders were open, after all those years, the tyran(s) would probably face way more issues than now, and may probably fall!

Kims are still here, their people suffered alot of those "sanctions", and now they have nuclear power AND a good reason to use it.

So sanctions are a double fail here, it changed NOTHING.

this is too broad a statement to agree on. sanctions that target the political elite, freezing their accounts, luxury goods & travel; sanctions that restrict the access to strategical resources, information, and unrestricted trade with 3rd party nations CAN be an effective tool if you're dealing with nations that still give a fuck (which to be honest are most of them, n. korea is pretty unique in that regard).
it's problematic when sanctions mostly hurt civilians - especially when you can't realistically expect some kind of short term political change as a result (which i guess is true in 99% of all cases)...

More tribute so they can promise not to research conventional weapons

Sounds good, have we tried this yet?

Yes, "freezing their accounts..." i can be agree with that, but all the rest failed.

Looks like things are getting down to the wire...and not wiht just North Korea. Seems Iran is taking a page from NK's book.
