Or maybe a black ops head hunter mission. Just take out all the leaders.
Follow that with an information mission. NK has been pretty isolated from the rest of the world.

I still think it's really China, behind all this. They could end the NK problem in 2 seconds if they wanted.

Who is foolish enough to judge a book by it's cover?

No matter who is president or what they said, NK was still going to do what they have been doing. They just didn't start making nukes since Trump came to office.
Even NK knows, no matter what Trump says, that we could handily kick their ass.

As for SK. They think they could stop everything with their 6 THAAD emplacements. The gamble, ofc is Seoul, SK which is home to 25 million people and 40 miles from NK's border.
NK doesn't even have to launch a nuke at SK they could carry one into Seoul in a hay cart or similar.

The problem seems to be China, and to a somewhat lesser extent Russia, as I have said before.
There are 5 countries with veto power in the UN. Those being China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, and United States.

The entire UN wanted to shut off the oil supplies to NK, which would have ground NK to a halt. But China and Russia, said they would veto that.
There are many diplomatic ways to stop NK but for China standing in the way.

Did you just say north korea could carry a nuke into south korea in a fucking cart? Do you even know wtf you are talking about?

apparently you never heard of conventional weapons, huh? seoul (and american military bases in the region) are very much in artillery range - and the north korean army, despite being technologically at a huge disadvantage, is MASSIVE. also you conveniently ignored the part of japan being very much a "viable" target to nuke for north korea...

So you agree SK could likely handle any artillery offensive with assistance of USA etc.

And I didn't mention Japan for 2 reasons
1) they haven't been the target of much hostility (or at least as much as SK)
2) I don't know what their defences amount to.

you are apparently completely unaware of the actual situation. north korea wouldn't have to move artillery towards the border, they already have multiple heavily fortified positions with hundreds of pieces of cannon and rocket artillery aimed at nearby seoul. even if a well coordinated preemptive strike could take out a significant amount of these positions - and i'm talking optimal scenario here - you'd still risk the life of tens of millions of south koreans.

as for your japan excuse, it doesn't even matter for what reason you didn't mention them. if SK is not a viable target (which is a stupid assumption to begin with since kim obviously doesn't care much about his own ppl) and they can't reach the US, the next best target presents itself.

Well I was kidding about the "hay cart". But Seoul is only 40 miles from NK border.
I would think it would be possible to move a nuke, that far, before detection AND disposal or disarming could be achieved.

/e Just a nuke is not that big..it could be in a large suit case in a diplomatic vehicle for example. As long as it could be sufficiently hidden from detectors...say with a lot of lead.

No one is casually strolling across the border between north and south korea with anything. You do realize those countries are still at war yes? That war did not "end" a cease fire was declared and is still on going. Have you seen the border? You do not just walk across that shit you will be shot before you manage to cross it.

Ok fine, I guess I have to spell it out.

Take it by boat, and then scuba guys...w/e. The point is that NK wouldn't need to launch a nuke at SK...there are other ways.

Nk has a bunch of little subs for example.
