That is a poor way to measure skill

Whoever has more skill at tennis will win fair tennis match except in rare cases of luck, is this a foreign idea to you?

So what you're saying is women should have to work MORE to get the same pay, since they naturally aren't going to draw the same crowd and drawing this kind of equivalence is a bit sad...

women should be able to compete on par with men to get the same pay

skating? sure
tennis? not even

I think you don't understand the difference between skill and ability

Skill
Quote
the ability to do something well; expertise.
"difficult work, taking great skill"

Ability
Quote
possession of the means or skill to do something.
"the manager had lost his ability to motivate the players"

do we have a different understanding here?

A deaf safecracker has no ability no matter how much skill he might have developed over his career.

If they were competing at tennis for the same pay they would be competing for prize money and rank. That's not what's occurring here.

That's great but that's truly irrelevant to my question.

Assuming both are able-body cis gendered humanoidkins-- The average wimbledon male player vs the average wimbledon female player, who wins?

if they were competing against one another there'd be no women's tennis to speak of

Then it's not a gender pay gap, it's a productivity pay gap.

It's no different from the fact that the players who lose in the 1st round of a tourney get paid less than the people that make the final. Gender has never had anything to do with the pay gap in tennis.
