Have to do a policy paper on the ACA. The biggest problem I've seen so far is that while there is increased funding for people with behavioral problems, the puritan ethic that keeps funding from chemical dependency research and practice still exists and shows in the legislation.

The ACA did nothing to address the soaring costs of healthcare in general. Healthcare spending per capita and as a share of GDP are still rising and still outstripping inflation + population growth. It changed who pays for whom, on the back of massive taxing & spending.
Hard to achieve universal coverage without raising the costs some as long as thieves are stealing profit between health service providers and the individuals they serve.
The health insurance industry should be nationalized and made non-profit. Or private non-profit at least.
