ah so its not simply tuituition that your talking about - but the additional fees that have risen so much - and you think its Democratic policies are the reason those fees have increased?

I really don't know what to say , you'd have to talk about a specific fee - like the cost of textbooks - but again there i don't see how you can blame Democrats - but rather owners of those Companies that publish those books and they are probably if not all Republican owners who control them.

Democrats don't control the world - just parts of the Government.

just curious, why do you keep addressing Santa as if hes a Republican?

I see you do it quite often, most perplexing.

Of course Democrat policies drive it. Especially the Stafford Loan program (LBJ) and the elimination of those loans being tied to parental income levels in the early 90s. What do you get when you offer below-market rate loans (with loan guarantees to lenders, no less) en masse to poor people whom you've led to believe that simply going to college will make your life better? Tuition rates that rise with the willingness to spend any money not one's own.

Since you agree that Government policies can influence Companies, we can finally agree that good ole GWB was a huge reason for the Financial collapse of the housing market that almost ripped apart the whole country - whew - glad we agree on that one.

LBJ - Don't know how 60s policies would affect Educational fees today - I wasn't even alive then.

Loans being tied to Parental Income? - that not only sounds awesome - thats exactly how we do things here in Canada, didn't know you were a pinko socialist like me - glad to meet you.

Who thinks college will guarantee your life getting better? - Maybe people who don't go to college or get kick out for drinking a beer? - idk who these people are but they are clearly idiots.

because he's a libertarian who leans right on a lot of issues and hates being referred to as a Republican? He certainly more right leaning than Obama on some issues.

Also in the text i'm not referring to Satara being a Republican - I actually say its Book publishing companies which are most likely owned by a Republican. Lol you talk about me being too cryptic - but it might helped if you actually read what im saying and If I'm unclear about something or you find some part confusing - you could ask like you are here. Unless you want to keep fighting over nothing.

??? How does agreeing that government can affect decision making in the private sector automatically make one agree that GWB was responsible for the financial collapse? Are you really that obtuse?
Considering you don't know about LBJ and his educational policies, how can you think your qualified to post about educational reform if you don't know what you want to reform??

Canadians posting about US policy without knowing US policy... fo realz

He IS that obtuse, I did laugh at the part where he suggest we should ask him what he really means anytime he posts his usual glib statements and logically defunct platitudes.

Clearly its because Santara is actually a closeted republican who secretly voted for mitt romney when it came to the moment of truth in '12, he even went through the incredibly elaborate steps of getting himself seen actively campaigning, crusading at length and even photoshopping pictures of his ballot in attempt to live with himself for not casting a vote for some crazy dirty old man who was going to steal votes away from vanilla cheesecake. I think after this many years he's even repressed the memory and convinced himself he's a libertarian at heart. We should stage an intervention and bring out all that latent homophobia, jingooism and ignorant rejection of science he doesn't display publicly.

What I appreciate most about Obamacare is that it's directly responsible for the creation of another Republican reality. The reform is obviously succeeding by every single socio-economic metric we use to evaluate healthcare reforms, and even reform more broadly, but yet these people are still herpin' and derpin' about the reform not working or even more hilarious, making things worse.

The ACA really did cause an avalanche of unintended comedy. It's a gold mine.
