we finally have a yec :o !

We've had several over the years.

Carbon dating only works to about 150k years.  Uranium dating, and about 10 other methods place the earth at like 4.5 billion years though.

That's something most people don't realize, Carbon dating is only for life forms.  It can't be used on fossils because fossils are where mineral has replaced bones.  The age of the earth, fossils, etc. are performed by a dozen or so longer lasting radioactive decay events which all agree to within a very short span.  It's not one method, it's a dozen the odds of all of them being wrong getting the same answer is astronomically low.

Yup, heavy metal dating is what gives us estimates for the Earth's age. Everyone just calls it "carbon dating" out of ease of communication, but it is good to have the official terms put out at least once per thread, just so we remember the real meaning of carbon dating.

can you believe it metaphorically :o ?

If you want me to believe it metaphorically, then you have to believe EVERYTHING else in the bible as a metaphor, including God existing

The world has been created 5775 years ago. Scientists rely on carbon-14 dating from bones. No one can tell you that they are 100% right.

The First Day
On the first day, G-d said, “Let there be Light” -- and there was Light.

The Second Day
On the second day G-d made the sky, and called it Heaven.

The Third Day
On the third day, G-d put the earth into good shape. At His command the waters of the earth gathered together at certain places. The waters formed seas and oceans, lakes and rivers, so that in other parts, the dry land became visible. At G-d’s further command, the earth was made to produce all kinds of plants, grass, and trees, shrubs and flowers. Each contained its own seed for further growth and reproduction.

The Fourth Day
On the fourth day, G-d made the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars, to shed light upon the earth. And so He set a time for day and a time for night, a time for the week, the month, and the year, and a time for each of the four seasons.

The Fifth Day
On the fifth day, G-d filled the seas with fishes and other water animals. In to the air above the earth He put many birds of all kinds and colors and sizes.

The Sixth Day
On the sixth day, were created all the other animals, large and small, those that walk and those that creep or crawl on the earth. And towards the end of the sixth day, G-d put a divine soul into a body which He made of earth and clay. This was the human. To the human G-d granted high mental ability that one could think and reach one’s own conclusions. G-d also gave the human the power of speech and He made humans superior to all other creatures of the earth. G-d placed all the creatures of the earth and the powers of nature in the control of the human.

The Seventh Day
By the seventh day, everything was created and put into shape and order. And G-d rested on the seventh day and He glorified it as a day of rest. Therefore we should work for six days and rest on the Seventh day, Shabbat, which G-d blessed and sanctified for all time to come. By observing the Shabbat day, we show that we believe in G-d as the Creator of the world.

Holy fuckin shit. He's a YEC. Lol.

Do your research kid. Carbon Dating is one of many, many, many methods used to date things and is not even that widely used BECAUSE of it's unreliability. Radiometric dating is much more popular for example.

Just refuting your claim of the Earth being 5775 years old - do you see that star? No not that one - this one -

That is Supernova 1987A so named because it was witnessed in 1987. This star died approximately 168,000 years ago. How do we know? Because it was 168,000 lightyears (the lightyear is a measure of distance. It is the distance that it takes light a year to travel) away from us.

What is wrong with that? You can't reason things when you start with the conclusion, that is just ass-backwards.

1 God day = 1000 man years.

Scientists are beginning to draw closer to the reality of the Torah.

hmmh... the funny thing is that i constantly hear claims like this from Muslims, Christians and Hindus as well - as long as they don't outright reject the findings (a la your first post in this thread).
