The exhaust will be painted black, since it's aluminized.

Interesting welds but it looks like it should flow good

Yeah, the bends actually got pretty complicated towards the downpipe flange. Lots of cutting, patching, and grinding, but it is a constant 3 inches throughout.

Wrapped my manifold and the downpipe this morning. Ran out of zip ties too, so I had to finish it up for now with a couple doubled up plastic guys.

I'll mount them up later after they completely dry out. Probably when I get back from snowboarding tonight. I think these are going to look pretty good with the turbo wrap. Pictures will tell.

and oh yeah. Happy New Year's Eve

Just noticed I never updated.
Mocked up the manifolds to see fitment.

Some of the wrap will need slight trimming in a couple spots.

So here's the hurrible pics...I like the contrast. (also surprised with how much that blue masking tape looks like the paint)

I think it's gonna look great. But the best part will be my underhood temps....Hopefully. B)

Go back a couple pages if you need to compare.

Used a couple plastic tip ties to hold the wrap in place until the remaining stainless zip ties arrive in the mail. I ran out, when I needed 2 more...

The car wont run for a few months, so no harm no foul.

And yeah, L series 6 motors are all same side intake and exhaust. Not the best design, but still capable of the modest gains I want.

Some guys in Australia have put RB heads on my block for some serious power.

Pulled my motor today. My friend Pat (left) stopped by for a little, and helped out. I set up the GoPro and took a bunch of time lapse shots so I have 200+ photos of the process. Was pretty neat.

Of course, the obligatory finger guns of victory!

Now the work may finally begin!

Okay so I started prepping and respraying my block.

Some tape, cardboard, and plastic later......

Next steps:

-Instal Turbo oil pan (gloss white pan)
-Install turbo oil pump (hence why I didn't tape off the current)
-Install distributor drive shaft and time the distributor
-Shave, and repaint valve cover

Can't wait to build the motor on the stand! Getting into the nitty gritty now!

Okay. So last night I swapped the Oil Pickup and the Oil Pan.

Took a couple hours hammering out any defects in the pan. It's hand tight now. Gonna put the 7 ft lbs to em this evening.

Then I can flip the motor over, and do my oil pump stuff

Updates to follow.
