You shouldn't be freezing up like that with your specs. Have you tried reinstalling? do you have anything running in the background? Like virus scanner or something?

You could try updating your graphics drivers.

Is this a new problem, or has it been on going? Do you remember when it first started happening, and if so, do you recall your computer doing anything (updates, driver changes, new hardware etc.)?

What are your computer's temps while playing? Just rule out a heat issue.

EDIT: After rereading the first page, it could be your ISP. Give them a call and see if maybe you have a bad line going to your house, or a defective modem.

Have you updated your wireless or ethernet drivers? If so where did you get the driver? Try different versions such as microsoft's driver, the maker of your card driver, and the maker of your computer driver.

I worded that poorly and I couldn't think of a better way to say it.

Do other programs run slowly? Have your forwarded any ports (6112) to that computer, or another computer?

Which driver do you want to change? wifi or LAN or both?

Just give me your laptop's make and model number and I'll get the links for you.
