Eibach kit is good on the FN2, getting them start of sept along with chamber bolts and struts.

Its the best performance/price upgrade for FN2 handling, not sure on yours though.

well your car is the next gen chassis of my car. the chasis have a very similar design, the biggest diff is i have independant rear suspension and u have a solid beam ream axle.

im pretty sure i have decided on eibach springs just cant decide between the pro or sport kit. the pro kit lowers about an inch and increases factory spring rates 15-20%, the sportline kit lowers about 1.7" and increases factory spring rates 20-25%. id love he extra performance from the sportline kit but im not sure about the ride quality, i dont want to be bouncing outa my seat. and i plan on making a few road ttrips in my car aswell i dont want it getting uncomfortable on long rides. but i really would like the best pereformance i can get.....

still havent decided on a damper yet either. being that i dont have the net at my place the only time i get to research this is when im at my parents place.

Your not going to notice 1" as much as you'd think. I'd definitely go with the 1.7" drop.

Speaking of this I might have found a stupid deal on basically new Koni Coilovers for the GTI. I'm thinking I'll actually pick them up lol

well iv been leaning towards the stiffer lower kit but im still undecided. its not the .7" lower that scares me its the 5-10% stiffer springs.

if i recall my factory rates are like 248 f and 449 rear. so add 25% to tht and 310 f and 561 r. the 310 in the front isnt so bad but 561 in the rear is pretty stiff.

edit: alot of the ppl on ephatch seem to like the progress group springs but they are on back order, they are 280 F and 500 R.

yea i hear ya, i would prefer coilovers a set of mugen coil overs specifically but they are like $1300 so iv been trying to do some research on the cheapest way i can go about doing this the right way.

this is also a few months in the future before ill have the cash to do this so ill just have tosee how much i can save.
