Interesting, I always hated builds under 100 dex..

I would like to see this tested in Arena, I guarantee 70 dex is not enough do do anything solo..

All my chars have done 1 - 71 solo, except for the Monk -- and yeah -- less than 100 is a big hassle

All I know is that I well with 30 str and 32 dexterity on my guardian.

Only problem is trying to well a high lvl heavy item because they'll crit for like 3.5k. >< lol
55 swords, axes, daggers, etc aren't a problem.

In short, int > str/dex!


For melee though, I go with 120 dex with gear on and the rest into str when using high range weapons.
For more consistent weapons, only 100 dex.

Well I have always loved str. I prefer a high Average rather than some really high crits here and there.

And, you are pathetic....... stuping to insults to try to get your point across. Throwing out STR+20/dex is not accurate. There is about 5% of the possible scenarios where this is the proper thing to do. Otherwise, there is alot of other factors involved.

Ya, I know.......... my real world tests are wrong. I should just listen to you since you know how to eloquently state your facts.... ie "you're stupid" (had quite a bit of respect for you up until that comment) Guess I didn't know you well enough yet .

I'm stating FACTS based upon my real world tests of thousands of kills under specific scenarios and FACTS show that with my high EE weapon, the BEST average damage whether it is arena, or maze or prior to update no maze is having my STR close to my EE and if possible any leftovers into DEX ( as long as I have at least 70 dex minimum). Yes, I've killed over 50K mobs now in ARENA only with only 70 dex and I average 8-12mins/level from 55-71. With a balanced setup (equal STR, equal DEX (140/125)), I can also solo arena just fine but it takes me 12-20mins/level in arena from 55-71.

I know I know, it must be because I don't know how to tell time or that I'm slashing in some alernate dimension where everything is "special" for me.

Show me some screenshots which back up your suggestions. Until then, your comments are only that..... comments. I'm trying to give screenshots to back up what I'm testing and you want to call me "stupid" ....... nice

What if I told you I get ~900+ average damage with:

241 ee 55 dagger and 150 str / 130 dex

btw, you can't say the extra 50 ee = ~230 damage

I would say try to go with 210str and 70 dex and see your avg dmg. Probably would be 1k or so

As a lvl 68 monk with 211 Str, 70 Dex I average around ~680 using:

Rare godwood staff
Level Req: 55
Damage: 240 to 641

+169% Enhanced Effect
+1% Mana Skin

Rare silksteel robe
Level Req: 45
Defense: 0 to 17

+10% Enhanced Effect
+48 Strength

Magical ice XIII
Level Req: 50
Spell Damage: 74 to 89
Mana Cost: 125

+45 Strength

And next climb i will go 100 dex 180 strength to see the avg.

Go 170 str 110 dex instead if you can

Since apparently your str should match your EE on weapon and rest of points into dex.

I don't need a high average, I need a efficient killing speed

And when i can rail off ~ 20-25% crits in the arena up to 2.5k damage its much more efficient
Besides, it much more fun to 1 shot maze mobs
