Hi Ray,

is there any point of LISS for me? HIIT always works for my needs so far, but are there any benefits to incorporate LISS on off days? I noticed my mile time went down because I stopped doing LISS after working with you and just doing HIIT. I don't care about mile time but it got me questioning does LISS offer any health benefits to your heart or lungs that HIIT can't do as efficiently?

Also I can add about 50lbs to deadlift doing mixed gripped because it doesn't slip. Should I keep doing it mixed grip?

LISS is purely for long distance endurance - but offers no true health benefits for hearts/lungs. The human body is actually not designed to be a long distance running machine, as we are bipeds.

Mixed grip is perfect. You can use that, or wrist straps, to break your grip wall and add more weight to the bar.

Hey what's up raynor what do you think of my diet

Meal 1
Cup of oats with a handful of blue berries
Side of mango, watermelon or pineapple, and a banana

Snack handful of a trail mix called tex trail mix

Meal 2
2 peanut butter and honey sandwiches (I use organic bread each slice has 140 calories 4g of protein and 25carbs) also use natural peanut butter and raw honey
3 stalks of celery and 3 carrots

Snack Apple

Meal 3
Quinoa, black beans, and ground turkey.
I feel the obvious is add veggies to that last meal
But the other thing is I'm trying to stay away from eating meat just to try it out but I don't want to rely on eating tofu every day

You are extremely low on protein in your diet. If you are going to avoid meat, you can add a 50g protein shake to meal 1 and 2l to at least get satisfactory protein for the day. Also, eggs and dairy should be acceptable for you, which can replace the turkey, or a shake, etc.

Also, refer here for a vegetarian plan:

Thanks man. A lot.
I'll try all these things out I'll be starting my new work out in two weeks when I get back from wonderland with my gf.
Peob ganna eat fast food during that time so I'll start in 2 weeks. What exactly is good footwear in the gym...sorry that's a stupid question but my feet tend to hurt. I pull ligaments in my feet easily. So what would you consider a good footwear?

If possible, workout in socks only - no shoes. However, if you absolutely require shoes, then get some custom orthotics made for your existing tennis shoes.

I would be working out at the gym, so I would need to have shoes.
Would runners be fine?

Hey man, I could use some advice. I'm six foot two and weigh 150 pounds, looking to gain weight, but my metabolism is so insane I can literally gorge myself to death and not gain a pound. I literally tried to gain weight with a mixture of fatty foods and weight gain shakes over the course of a few weeks and actually lost almost two pounds. I'm pretty much all muscle, very low fat content, but I'd really like to be about 170 pounds and cut given my height. Any advice?

My brother and I are the same. You could probably use protein shakes and work out. Do a good hour workout full tilt. We don't use tread mills but Ray told me to do morning runs so I'll be trying that

oh ok cool. I just missing jogging on sunday mornings on my off days. What can I do to still go outside and enjoy the trail that they have out here but be more efficient (prevent muscle catabolizing, heart/lung health, overall feel better on sunday) than jogging?
