For ease of speaker wire connections, I'd highly recommend getting banana plugs to connect the wires.

ok thanks. i am not familiar with what banana plugs are or how to use them?

so do you just attach them to the ends of the speaker wires that only plug into the receiver?

Bare wire is almost just as easy imo.

Yes, some use them on speaker end too but they are mainly used on receiver end, some speakers dont even have banana plug inserts.

These are easiest to use plugs and one of best in value as well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007QUYQSY/

Edit: for 16/18 awg wire I would not bother with banana plugs, you are better of using bare wire. For 12/14 awg you start to have benefits with them.

i cant tell by looking at the picture. do the Dayton Audio B652-AIR 6-1/2 use banana plugs?

also i will probably just be using the 18 gauge wire, unless i notice some issue with it. since i already bought 100 ft of it lol.

and i just ordered the 35ft monoprice RCA cable from amazon for 10 bucks and free 2 day shipping.

i think 35 ft will give me enough room to move the subwoofer around and run the cable over a doorway and along the wall.

With quick googling they dont have banana plug terminals.

For receiver side you still could use the plugs, but you are better with bare wire as you have 18awg.

On the receiver end.

Sorry, I suppose I could have clarified that earlier.

yea i dont think it should be difficult at all. luckily i do have a cheap pair of wire cutters and it had the wire stripper as a part of it. i used them for my car audio setup. although the amplifier was basically stripping the end of the wire and slide in the exposed wire, then screw in the little hex screws with the hex key. it looks like A/V receivers are similar, except the video i watched showed you put the wire into a hole in the middle of the screw and then just screw it back in place.

my bad yea i forgot about the receiver end lol. not sure why i only considered the speakers. thanks for the suggestion

But wouldnt the banana plugs only be useful if i plan on having to plug and unplug the connections often? if i only plan on plugging them in once to setup the system, then i dont think the banana plugs should be needed? or do they help with a better quality connection or something?
