If you are an SC player, there are two ways to play the game.
#1: Solo Death Farming for drops to upgrade and sell off.
#2: Try to Reset Ladder by joining groups and also equipping yourself to be useful and enjoy their company... this can produce more FG as well.
For HC player ... I can not define your reasoning to play it by my own accord.
I play to gain Prof points for Heavy Weapons and get Ranked, now I also play ALL my characters, not one(1) main character like I did when playing SC, thus, my time is split... I don't care for the FG, I don't care to Reset Ladder... I play for prof points while solo'ing (makes things harder for getting items etc) whereas playing in a group would be a little bit more fruitful.
As for doing a Master Quest, I have a selected method for the key order.
Feeder (used to be 3 key selection) = 231
All 3 key selection locked characters I used the same combo... = 231
4 key selection =2314
5 key selection = 23145
6 key selection = 231456
Simple as that, and because I use multiple characters, some pass to Monk of their 4th attempt... which I hate, and also hate the 2 key update for feeder classes as it only increased the speed of Resetting the Master Quests.
#1 & #2 I suppose
But also cause I very much enjoy collecting and building the best weapon sets per char
