Leveling a barb and kind of clueless on what kind of build to run, I feel very weak and slow.

I got a gavel and bracers of destruction + a few level 70 crafted yellows.

Any suggestions of what build to run while leveling?

I did get the massacre node and the no level req node at the altar

just look at leaderboards, maxroll gg, or icey veins and copy to top builds. use shards and cube to gear up faster. when you know what you need and use all your mats in the best way, you can gear up in just a few hours. people who grind for days and still have crap gear are not playing the game correctly.

What would be the best way to gather mats as a fresh 70 with pretty much random gear to farm for viable gear? I guess also doing the seasonal reward will help

just a mix of bounties, the highest torment you can get access to (leach with T6 if u have to), and then do solo GR's until you unlock T16.

I usually make some random build with the legacy of dreams gem using whatever legendaries I can cobble together. Individual set items can be used too, just no set bonuses from multiple pieces.

That should help you complete your season journey chapter 4 so you can get your 6-piece set and start blasting Torment 10+
