What is it? I keep seeing it on trade and idk what it is

Unspawn = Above the max what an item can roll today
Unspawn is also the name because they are simply unspawnable today

Back when the game first came out there was no cap on items
So that's why there is tier 1 items with 40+ stats today.

Today we can only find overspawns which means that an item will be able to roll max +1 tier.
Example t1 item (int has a max of 5) but if you use magic luck it's posible to find +5 int more, so a t1 item can be found with up to 10 int today.

e/ sorry this post is incorrect as i have been informed ( i learned something new today).. the items i have listed below are overspawns, not unspawnable.. my bad..



as NR1 mentioned. it is any drop that exceeds the tier limit.

just a few examples from my personal casting stuff.

Rare oak staff
Level Req: 5
Damage: 20 to 54

+484 Max Mana ~ exceeds tier max by 84 mana
+5% Lightning Mastery


Mythical lightning III
Spell Damage: 6 to 60
Mana Cost: 21

+67% Enhanced Effect ~ exceeds tier max by 7%ee
+3% Life Steal
+1% Damage Return
+2% Mana Syphon
+2% Wind Mastery


Mythical lightning VI
Level Req: 15
Spell Damage: 17 to 172
Mana Cost: 45

+139% Enhanced Effect ~ exceeds max by 19%ee (best level 15 light in game on HC)
+10 Dexterity
+1 to 60 Life per Kill (perfect stat)
+1% Damage Return
+6% Physical Damage Reduction (perfect stat)

wow. these are what we call overspawns.
They're not unspawns cos they can actually spawn, hence why they exist on HC.
They're called overspawns because they have spawned 1 tier higher than the usual maximum without magic luck and can only be found these days using magic luck.


unspawns are only possible ages back and cannot be spawned any more.
i mean come on, the clue is in the name UNSPAWNABLE = NOT SPAWNABLE.

all of your examples can still spawn.

This is an unspawn:
Rare ice I
Spell Damage: 5 to 6
Mana Cost: 5

+32 Dexterity
+1% Damage Return

it cannot drop like this at all any more. the highest you'll get on a tier 1 is 10 dex, hence not spawnable

my bad.. never actually seen an unspawnable myself didnt really know there was much difference tbh, thought it was just the way ppl talked about overspawns. unspawnables are all sc are they not? i have not seen any on hc?

e/ i also did not know that overspawns were capped at 1 tier over its tier? so eg; 20ee? 5 dex/str/int/vit, etc?

they are indeed all on softcore. the patch which made them not spawn came out before HC came out.
also, sorry my message could have been a bit less aggressive, thanks for just keeping on topic rather than hating on me :P

have yet to see one which is more than that, so until proven otherwise will say that's the case
