Best advice I've ever heard was to walk away. Your #1 self-defense is the ability to walk/run away from a shitty situation.

let me start with I own guns and am pro gun.

What's a gun going to do?

Be a tool used in self defense by someone who can't guard themselves while unarmed.

The gun can not physically do anything, but as a tool you can make your hand grasp it and pull the trigger, if it’s been properly loaded.
