It's alright. Red and Kitty are carrying it a bit from the nostalgia.

New cast just isn't as funny, not sure if it's the writing or acting or both

Maybe you just didn't have a childhood that was relatable. For myself it was all pretty relatable coming of age things. Girl issues, getting high with friends, sneaking booze, having parties, getting in shit with your parents and authority, rock and roll years of my life.

I think that's what made the show, just how relatable a lot of it is/was and that's why it stands the test of time because for lots of us it's like looking back in time.

It's not that I find those things unrelatable it's that the characters felt plastic and annoying.

I felt that in the later seasons. It became forced humour sometimes. Especially Fez and none of the additional characters really felt cohesive to the show like Eric's replacement or Hydes sister.

But the earlier seasons / episodes were memorable and great in my opinion.

Really feels like the gay kid was shoved in as an afterthought, maybe like the pitched the show and Netflix said “where’s the lbgt one?”

It really does. They just made the most stereotypical gay character they could find
