That's the sad reality of TV right now. They toss absolute garbage your way using an established IP and if something is mediocre, by comparison to the previous garbage it's gold. Our standards are just being reduced.

I kept watching because it kept showing signs of life. "Oh maybe next episode we'll get to the good stuff" but it never worked out like that.

I think just call it a day on this show and maybe find something else you enjoy.

Also I cant even say I outright hated it, there were some incredibly strong moments but it never delivered on what I wanted as an audience member. It's great that they managed to deeply and profoundly capture the human experience in a dystopian nightmare but I wanted more than that. I want to see some zombies getting blown the fuck up and I want some heated battles and I want there to be a sense that there's potentially danger around every corner. Most of the show is spent talking about danger that never manifests and it leaves you feeling like a small child that's been yelled at one too many times with empty threats. Maybe the point was to showcase people being the real threat but I dont think the equation needed to be so one sided. I actually enjoyed most of the character flashback episodes but when youre limited to 12(?) episodes I wish they'd been a little more selective.

Maybe it's all an incredible setup for a S2 but I'm wary theyll deliver the experience I personally crave (see: Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later, etc). That's probably not what they intend to do so watching S2 might be setup for failure but I enjoyed S1 enough that I'd give it a chance.
