Hello. I basically just need a computer that allows me to write plain text and then save it to a USB drive. It doesn't have to have internet connection. Right now I use notepad on my laptop. I am just wondering if there is something similar on a chromebook. And if I can get it without needing internet access, as in, its something that's built into the chromebook.

Thanks.

Just buy the cheapest laptop you can. If you are literally just doing text editing then a used one from the 2010s will be adequate.

Thanks for the reply, Netflix.

Tbh, I don't want a second-hand laptop that's been used for multiple years. I am, however, open to refurbished products, something that's been used very lightly. This is the site that I use: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/collection/refurbished-laptops/31050?icmp=global_evergreen_refurbished_laptops

As you can see, a refurbished laptop can still cost 200 to 300 dollars, whereas a chromebook can be as cheap as 80 dollars. This kind of pricing is very attractive to me. I don't really need a computer for anything, I already have a laptop for gaming and everything else. I am trying to spend as little money as possible, as I don't need anything fancy.

Chromebook would work for what you mentioned. i think you'd have to use Google's word version to type on though. I can't remember if mine has a notepad but i know for sure you can use Google's "word"!
