Buy USD on Steam in the Steam subforum and use the USD to buy the items you want on the Steam Marketplace. You're still spending forum gold for the items you want

The ratio in that forum is 10,000fg:$100 USD. I'd recommend using a med when trading. Happy trading

Very few informed people buy fg through the "Purchase More Forum Gold" function. Once you have access to the donor forum you can purchase fg at a much better rate.

The ratio is higher in the Steam forum because it's one of the few ways you can convert fg to $ legitimately through JSP while following the rules.

Edit: 10k fg:$100 USD is similar to the rate in the dota forum when trading for skins as well. Check the math on some of the Arcana or Battle Pass levels post ft with bins
