Im taking the part time 6 month coding boot camp at ucf on the 31st.

Curious if any other jspers have completed a bootcamp from one of their universities and if so, how much did it help them career wise?

no

i downloaded a library of coding books in pdf

the 4 that helped the most where:

the c++ programming language
programminjg principles and practice using c++
the complete c++ reference
c++ in 30 days

i did that back in 2012 ish and when ever i need a boost with one of my projects i dive into the book or stackexchange

those bootcamps are over rated hype

Overrated hype or not it looks like the ability to get a decent job out the gate is there.

I've done mostly sales and IT work for a call center.

So did you previously have a degree or just learned code and built projects to satisfy your resume?

no degree

by law i cannot accept money/assets for any work i do under any circumstance

if your code meets the requirements specified for secure coding standards and is clean and easy to read and maintain yet not overly complicated you succeeded

anyone can program, secure programming is difficult

since it had no context or clear reason for being mentioned, it seems that he said it to augment how he is perceived. why? not sure, was figuring if he answered he would hint at it. it's probably the usual boring thing where people want how they are perceived to drain down a layer and change how they see themselves.

okay i'm being a bit obtuse there, but his answer will likely be something about being in one of the branches of service. he would not be stopped from doing work for money, and if he was, it would be any work regardless of money. and again, if he was then he shouldn't say it like this out of nowhere.
