So I have a pole barn with metal walls. The modem and router in my house are about 100 feet from the pole barn. The wifi is awful in the barn. It’s unusable. I ran an Ethernet cable from inside the house to the pole barn ( underground ofc ). My question is, what can I do to get wifi in there instead of Ethernet. Can I connect anything to the Ethernet cable ran from my house to the pole barn to give me wifi signal inside the barn? I’d like to run multiple things off wifi in my barn with good signal. Thanks in advance.

Edit. Obviously Ethernet is better but I’m in there with friends every Sunday for football and we play Xbox and stream red zone and everyone wants to be on the wifi

You could always connect another router to the Ethernet in the barb, if you have one in hand.

Shouldn't be a problem.

You're gonna need a wireless point-to-point bridge. Repeaters are shit, and won't work over that distance and into a pole barn with metal walls. Neither will an outdoor AP on the house side. I don’t think the U6 Lite supports PTP mode, either.

Basically, two of these, with Ethernet ran from the router through the wall facing the barn on the house side and into one, then the other on the pole barn exterior wall facing the house, and Ethernet ran through the wall there to an AP or a router in bridge mode broadcasting WiFi for the barn.

Note: There has to be direct line of sight between the two for it to work.

this guy internets
p2p is the answer for the best quality connection inside of the barn with another access point inside the barn, some have crazy throughput which can be near lossless
