Here's the list I have to work off of. I have never built a PC before. I have always had a laptop. I have a Lenovo y700 with a 960M and i5-6600HQ at the moment. I think I'd like to try building one.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VFJL78

Budget:
Maximum you will spend? - trying to keep it under 2K USD all in. But we'll see.
Will you complete mail in rebates? - Yes
If so, may we go over-budget if rebates bring you within budget? - Yes
Do you need Windows Operation System within budget? - no
Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard within budget? - monitor yes. Keyboard/mouse no.

Basic Info:
Specific Uses (Programs, game titles etc.) - 1440p gaming, streaming but not like a professional streamer, just for fun.
Country? - USA
Will you travel to NCIX (canada) or Microcenter (USA) for parts? (Null if unsure) - I have a microcenter within 30 minutes of my house.

How much hard drive space do you want or need? - this is one of my questions: I see a lot of people have boot drives for their OS which are like 250gb, and then they get multiple TBs in the form of other drives. Maybe keep all their games on one drive, and everything else on another - is this right? If so, let's try to fit that in the budget.
Will you use wireless or wired internet? - wired. But wifi is always good to have.
Will you overclock CPU and/or GPU? - no.
Any special requests or useful things to tell us? (Specific case, need lots of storage, audio etc.) - going for a white build such as the Lian LI o11 air mini from Bittwits YouTube channel.

Style (optional)

Do you prefer any specific colors for the build/computer case? - white, I like the Lian LI o11 air mini but I know the 4000D is the popular choice.
Do you prefer a window on your case? - Yes
*(Please note how picky you will be with colors. Sometimes it's just not feasible to get some colors on certain parts)*
I am not picky. I'd like it to be white with some RGB. But if the motherboard is mostly hidden anyways, I don't care. If the GPU is black, we can still make it look good.

Games:
The games I play are all old school.
Final fantasy 11
Final fantasy 12
Age of empires definitive edition
Diablo 2 resurrected

I don't really play new games but I think I'd like to be able to if I wanted. I'm mostly building this to learn about PC building and understand PCs better. I'm 34, no longer an epic gamer 😆

Was debating waiting for 13th gen and 4000 series but I don't really need that stuff.
Also was debating trying all AMD stuff, but honestly I am a noob so something about Intel/Nvidia just felt like the better choice. But that is based on nothing except noob opinion. Should I go AMD to save in cost?

ok keeping to a white theme with good parts Intel+ddr5 ram, 3070Ti managed to get it under 2k but without a monitor unfortunately but don't know any good white ones.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7HdDQ6 - $1979.27

can get it lower but might have to sacrifice the white theme or be a bit more flexible.

pretty nice, would just swap out the Western Blue NVME for something like a Crucial P5 Plus (1TB Around $118.99 USD), take advantage of the PCIE4.0 speeds

Would swap out your 1TB Western Blue for something like 1TB Crucial P5 Plus and take advantage of PCIE4.0 speeds

If you have the budget go for a 2TB Crucial P5 Plus or 2TB Western Black SN850 (2TB and above have the higher read/write speeds). Would be around $100 difference, and that extra bit of storage is always nice

Personally never had much success with Gigabyte monitors (returned a couple, performance issues out of the box) they have so many different series/levels, they kind of trick the customer

Dell Monitors are heavily underrated and have great cost/performance, this would be a Curved Panel VA 165HZ @ $329.99 (usually $449.99)

BenQ are very nice as well, this would be a Flat Panel IPS 144HZ @ $349.99 (usually $499.99)

I tried an LG 27GP850B (think it won Gaming Monitor of the year in 27" 2021) and wasn't a big fan, but I was coming from a Curved VA Panel & personally I like VA Panels more for gaming

The 32GN600-B is a VA Panel, for the price it looks like a great deal tbh & LG is top in Monitors.

I found 32" to be too big for FPS games personally, 32" for RTS and build games was pretty dope

Yes thanks. I was worried 32" is too big. I don't play fps but still too big.
27" seems right for me. But such a good deal...can I really pay more for less monitor? 😆

Haha, check the return policy on the 32GN600-B, if there's no restocking fee and you think it's too big, you can always RMA it :P

I also did not have the appropriate desk space for a 32", so it was more a factor of it being right in my face also lolz

A friend suggested this build instead of the previously linked one.
I guess I didn't realize you can use amd with Intel

This is much better, yeah?
