This would be my first build. I'm no guru or anything, seeking opinions/suggestions. I play a lot of Guild Wars 2 and other mmo rpg's online. Having used my old pc for the last 8 years, I'm, only able to run those games on the lowest settings to even play. I'm attempting a build that can sustain high performance on later games. Thanks for any and all help!

the 5800x3d retails at 449$ if u swap that for a 5600x which is 209$ you can upgrade to a 3060 or u can add another 100$ for 3070 and what is the speed of the ram? i recommend at lease 3200mhz for ryzen cpus

Video Card - If thats what you currently have sitting around, that will work.
Otherwise I'm Greatly Recommending the GTX 1080. ( Preferably MSI or EVGA )

Avoid being cheap on the power supply, an extra 10$ for a Gold Rating Power supply goes a long way in life of not only the power supply, but the life of the capacitors of your motherboard and other components.
I've seen a lot of Corsair Power Supply Fans Fail Day 1 , especially in the first week. Its only about 15% of them that actually last more than a week.

I think swapping CPU with the cheaper and swap the VGA into RTX or something that has GDDR6 memory and the newer bus interface

why is corsair vengence bad ram?

its not bad ram BUT its not particularly good with Ryzen as there has been large reports of them not hitting advertised speeds with XMP. They are flawless with Intel though.

I am pretty sure its not all modules though but corsair ram is popular so they sell a large amount of modules so will get more bad rap with not up to par modules. I know plenty of people with Ryzen using corsair ram with no issue and hitting advertised speeds so its down to lottery where there is a small chance of getting a bad module where said bad modules work well under Intel.

Aww ok, because I have 16gb I installed with my wifes ryzen 5 5500 and had no issues with speed but with how much corsair prob sales there are prob more bad ones reported then others
