This list is based on who he thinks has the highest ceiling if the players all reach their full potential in the NHL. His actual draft list has slaf and Wright at 1/2 neck to neck, but prefers slaf over wright.

This draft is weak for a top 5 compared to other years, I think it's comparable to Patrick Nolan VS Nico hischier. Not mcdavid VS Eichel, Laine over Matthews level lol

problem is slaf isn't even the consensus #2. It's Wright vs Cooley. Only the media have brought up Slaf because of his worlds performance vs italy and france(lol).

It's been those as the top 3, it's a weak top end draft so it's normal to expect some variances. Hischier wasn't even in the convo til later half the year shooting up to 2nd as well after his worlds performance. It's been Patrick Nolan all year long as #1.

i think the only reason hischier really started to get talked about as the #1 was injury concern with patrick and for good reason guys got mad skill but hasnt been able to play due to injuries
if patrick was healhy no injuries leading up to the draft imo hes undoubtedly the #1 pick

not really, patrick had injuries and concerns but it definitely didn't affect his ranking at all. Some had him ranked #2 at the worst, if most did not have him at #1. So he was still the #1 pick and it was basically up to NJ to choose him or go with nico.
it was hischier's performance at world junior and his league that got scouts talking more about him and pushing himself to be neck to neck with Nolan, not Nolan getting hurt to lose the #1 spot.

Much like Wright was #1 for a long time, but he had an off year and it happened to be during his draft year but he will be a solid NHL player regardless. There's just other players that scouts believe that have higher potential than Wright in the future and far more room to grow than Wright, but that's only if they manage to reach their full potential.

he's got a hit a bust sooner or later, or he's just a hacking godzerman

Even if he gets a bust, he's still godzerman

Bobfather ranks slaf as 1 and wright as 2.

He hasn't been wrong since like 2010 for his 1st oa picks. I think the same with button, and he has wright as 1oa. Looks like 1 of them will have their streak broken.
