Curious if any of the actives here actually make FG. I have yet to have a positive month playing poe.

I’m always too laate and the prices go down so quick

If you are trying to make FG in PoE, here are some tips of how I made FG in the past.

1. Early league start, Chaos Orbs are very valuable, and you need to trade them on these forums as soon as possible as you stated, the prices drop very quickly. We are talking about hours after launch, you need to let these orbs go.

2. Exalted Orbs is going to be your main currency to exchange for FG. The items you find, craft, need to be converted into Exalted Orbs in game so you can exchange on here quickly.

3. Some people are also desperate for Exalted Orbs quickly and overpay. If you are able to take advantage of flipping them at high prices to people in a rush and buying low for those that have a low bin price, this is also a way you can go about making FG.

General tip, buy the currency you need to progress the game at the pace you are able to sustain. If your gears are helping you complete and do content that can yield you a high amount of return in Exalted Orbs, then this is the investment you need to make when required. Sell all the excess orbs you do not need in order to ensure the value does not depreciate on you. You can always buy back at lower price when needed.

you dont gain by playing / having fun of POE, u gain exp by flipping/ botting

I have made the majority of my FG in POE and im going to have to say my tactics are the opposite of Jasc. I spend the first week grinding to get a decent / fast mapper up and going and then spend the rest of the league juicing maps and making bank.

I dont sell any chaos/exalts in the first few days and just spend it all getting a decent build. The better your build, the faster you farm, the more fun you have, the more money you make long term.

but basically if you want to earn a decent amount of fgs in poe, these are your options:

1) be damn good at it (and im talking like 2-3 standard deviations better from the mean or roughly 1~2% of players)
2) trade (aka "flip")
3) bot
4) trade bot

anything else wont work and you will just get burned out and look like shit after sleeping 2h a day due to the pressure of falling prices. a good rule that i use is, if you have to ask this question, you wont be able to earn much fgs on start, if any

Bots that play the game arent allowed but the swathes of bots that flip items and orbs 24/7 are perfectly fine.
