Moving to a more CBD-based pen to see if it helps my sleep, read somewhere that THC is a stimulant and isn't helping my quality of sleep.
Gonna give CBD a go
Hard to find any real studies on its effects on sleep specifically - like real scientific peer reviewed data. Just doesn't exist or I can't find it.
Try focusing more on the terpines profiles of each individual strain, there's quit a few that fall along the line of anti-inflammatory and such things those generally are gonna be your sleepy weeds. Avoid limonene like the plague if you're going for sleepy time. Smoking and eating edibles seem to have opposite effects on me. I crank an edible an it's sleepy time no matter where and when it kicks in. THC is going to give your a generic high, terpines and CBD ratios are going to define that high. They all come together to play a different song than the rest, it's called the entourage effect.
TLDR : research terpines
