I just read that the hubble telesope detected light from a star 12.9 billion light years away.
So when this star existed, earth was still billions of years away from getting into existence...isnt that incredibly fascinating?

Worked out I would say, but they also immediatly said JWST will look closer into it, because hubble cant - so I wouldnt see a planned fraud here or anything like that, if that is what you wanted to say.

Responses like his are why this sub is dead. You can't have a real conversation without someone bring up conspiracy theories, religion, or politics even though this isn't for that.

Hubble will still have it's place doing stuff like this. Having a spotter for a sniper is common practice after all.

well except the last one, some actually do believe that one personally i believe that we are effectively alone as every society (even alien ones) collapses again and again, and way before they can master interstellar travel which also explains the fermi paradox
