Rice dishes are amazingly cheap. The carbs help to fill you up and you can toss anything into them to make it fit into any meal. Eggs and bacon for a delish breakfast, steak and sriracha for lunch or dinner. I love rice.

True that.

You can also add heirloom grains to your rice to spice things up, and to add more nutrients. Spelt, cous-cous, buckwheat, quinoa, and things like that.

I havent heard of heirloom grains. What are they like? I prefer Jasmine rice but always open to new ideas.

Think of heirloom grains as grains that non-Europeans traditionally eat. Sorghum, spelt, buckwheat...etc. Very exotic sounding and tasting grains that are wheat and rice substitutes. They can usually be found at places like Whole Foods market.
