When the focus is on monetization, quality suffers. And thus the game becomes worse, and long term monetization suffers and long term viability suffers. And thus, a instant classic ISNT made.

It’s why d1 and d2 did so wel. They focused on quality and thought, the money will come if its great. Which is why they created instant classics in both those games.

yup i agree 100%. producers these days know themselves they can get away with releasing a half arsed game that still generates massive profit through monetization

It amazes me people will buy it preorder.

There is literally no benefit in buying it 5 months before release or the night before.


All it benefits is the producer to try to hit some monetization metrics they developed. Then when it hits those metrics, they know they don’t really have to try anymore. Then they just push out whatever shit they developed. They made their money and just hope it gets a little popular so after launch they still are able to sell some more copies.

i see this on game platforms like steam alot selling pre release glitch fest games that will never be finished

Add run/walk feature to diablo 1 and I would say diablo 1> any version of Diablo 2
