the reason they keep fucking it up and will continue to fuck it up is because its not the same people who made diablo 1 and 2. its a different group of people altogether. blizz is more concerned about making a game that people will buy. they arent passionate about making a great game anymore. they have no idea what made diablo 2 great for example
diablo 2 features that diablo 3 doesnt have
-8 players per game. diablo 3 has 4 when they should have focused on having more. instead they went in the opposite direction
-world pvp (a feature that makes diablo 2 end game addictive and the reason why people still play it) diablo 3 has a shity pvp arena that nobody even goes to and only having 4 players per game makes it even harder
-better inventory and items customization. in diablo 2 you can actually customize your character with different types of items and still have a viable build where as diablo 3 is linear af. you literally just farm the same items with slightly better stats BORING
-skills have their own unique mechanics. in diablo 3 pretty much all the skills work the same exact way you either increase the dmg with str, dex or energy and + to skills items. where as in diablo 2 you have skills like smite and whirlwind that have their own unique mechanics
-MUCH MORE REALISTIC LOOKING ART. now adays it seems like the only thing blizz pays any attention to is graphics and yet they totally miss the mark on the art style making their games look cartoony like World of warcraft and yet you have diablo 2 a 20+ year old game that looks more realistic with shity resolution
-diablo 2 quests and stories were way more interestingand fun than diablo 3 i doubt anyone will disagree with me on this
-diablo 2 just had a more realistic feel to it. it felt more historically accurate where you're going off to fight something wearing leather and the art really captured the feel of the time period its supposed to represent. where as you have diablo 3 where the armor has big huge gay horns coming out of it which make no sense logically why you would wear that into a battle
i could go on for hours about why diablo 2 will always be better than whatever new release blizzard is working on so im just gonna stop here
