I can think of huge scientists that believed nonsensical things. Clearly their IQs were not low at all.

You can think of exceptions. Numerology is known pseudoscience. The tendency to see meaning where there is none is self-delusional. The willingness to delude yourself, or to see reason is not a typical trait of the intelligent.

we can say that about any religion and there are several billions of religious people on earth.
